Once that you arrive to the Riviera Maya, it is easy to fall in love with the beautiful beaches. If you are here in the winter and the beach is not an option due the weather conditions, we have a cool list of things to do on cold days!

The last weeks there has been unusual cold days in the Riviera, most days the temperature at night is around 70F. These cold days don’t seem to affect visitors used to freezing conditions, but you can see the local residents are wearing long sleeves, jackets and even scarves.

If you are stuck at your home or hotel wondering what to do on those cold days, fret no more… We have put together a list of cool things to do on cold winter days. Luckily, the Riviera Maya is much more than beautiful beaches, so get ready to have a blast!

From the creators of  Xcaret & Xel-Ha some of the best-selling attractions in the Riviera Maya, Xoximilco is a great way to spend a winter night. Located in Cancun, this amazing park recreates the traditional Xochimilco lake and its colorful fiestas on a boat.

Xoximilco will offer a night full of fun, drink and food on a boat floating on picturesque canals full of color and live music. It is ideal for groups up to 20, but if you decide to come on your own it is a great opportunity to make new friends aboard.

A winter day is ideal to connect with the enigmatic Mayan culture, who dominated the region for centuries. This is an ideal activity because it requires walking for long periods of time; and the cool breeze will make the experience much more bearable.

The Riviera Maya is less than an hour away from archeological sites such as: Xel-Ha, Tulum, Coba and Muyil; while Chichen Itza is only 3 hours away.
